I have been a musician for over forty years and a composer for over twenty years. I have been playing the piano since I was six years-old and have dabbled in a number of other instruments, including voice. I lived in London in the UK from 1999 until 2004 and it was there I discovered that I wanted to be a film and visual media composer. I found and completed a fantastic course that gave me the knowledge and skills to compose for film, television and visual media. I have composed the music for numerous short films, ads and a feature.
I have a Bachelor of Creative Arts, a Diploma of Contemporary Music Business, a Certificate of Teaching and a Certificate of Performance as well as my course in composing and synchronising music for film and video. I have also been a music educator for nearly twenty years, I have been an MD for theatre shows and music has always been my passion.
For the last couple of years, I have been getting into game music composition and have created three online games from scratch. I am also branching out into sound design and have the gear to go out and capture field recordings.
I also work for a Registered Training Organisation and have been there for over nineteen years, ten of which have been in the Accounts Department.

Matt Houston | Photographer
I’m Matt Houston, founder of Ironbark Photography. I live and work on Dharawal Country along the beautiful south coast of NSW, Australia. My love of photography began as a teenager. I was intrigued by how still images could be captured and used to tell a story, particularly of people.
As a creative soul, I am drawn to a variety of artists who use differing mediums to express their view of the world. As a musician myself, it was a natural evolution to hone my photography skills shooting live musical acts and expanding into theatre. I look for the moments that show raw passion and vulnerability, the artist lost in the moment and giving fleeting insights into their inner world.
I have captured hundreds of musical and theatre acts since 2017. The lessons I have learned through that practice have translated to many different forums and events in a variety of settings. It has enabled me to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and develop the vital interpersonal skills necessary to be a photographer. My interest has expanded to providing head shots for creatives, small businesses and corporate clients.
I aim to bring out the beauty and uniqueness of each individual through expression.
